Carbon neutrality refers to a system which manages the negative impacts of carbon emissions from carbon dioxide. Carbon neutrality can be achieved in two ways:
1. Emissions are managed within the system. A simple example is a building which adds vegetation to absorb and offset generated emissions.
2. Carbon offsets are purchased to invest in management strategies.
The most Common sources of carbon emissions include: fossil fuel combustion, steel production, cement manufacturing, natural gas combustion, and solid waste combustion.
