Building high performing healthy buildings requires vast material information. To support LEEDv4 and LBC projects, ORIGIN and CaGBC (LEED Canada) have launched an initiative to collect material information from material providers nationwide. The Canadian Material Data Drive targets varied geographical content from local, national and international suppliers to support Canadian Green Building. Rich material information is sought, including EPDs, HPDs, Declare labels, VOC test reports, responsible forest product sourcing certifications, Cradle to Cradle™ Certification, and chemical screening. 25,000 materials are targeted to be collected during the Data Drive. Collected material information will be added to the ORIGIN Cloud database which already includes 100,000+ materials and 525,000+ validated data points. All existing materials and those collected thru the Canadian Material Data Drive will be freely accessible to participating individuals and design firms across Canada.
The Canadian Material Data Drive aims to provide design teams with comprehensive material information and search tools to simplify and optimize the material selection process for green building. Join the Canadian Material Data Drive and benefit by having your material library digitized and freely available in the cloud.
